    I got some idea as to how we define the direction of the patch numbering based on the orientation of the surface normal vector. But let's consider the outlet patch with orientation 4 7 15 12. Is it acceptable to consider starting from other numbers (while maintaining direction) say 7 15 12 4 ?

    What do you think about gpu parallelization with openfoam? will it ever be implemented in the main of releases?

      They are working on it, however unfortunately "only" the solution of the matrix equations will be handled by the GPU, everything else will still be handled by the CPU. I am still looking forward to it.

      @@OpenFOAMJozsefNagy Thanks for the reply. What are your opinions on yocto/zeptofoam and exafoam? I wanted to port OpenFOAM with petsc4foam and Amgx on GPU but there are sadly no tutorials around. With the unbelievable speed of GPU calculations seen in multiple studies, in lagrangian methods like SPH and DEM as well as in Fluent and M-Star it would be great to see OpenFOAM making use of the performance. Maybe a video on it would be awesome: Thanks for the great work for the community

      I am not sure for those specific versions. Maybe because v4 is _very_ old. Differences between newer versions should not.

    Hi József, Thanks a ton for the amazing videos!!!! I was wondering if there is a way to specify volumetric flowrate of gas and water at the inlet. As in, can I specify something like I need 10m3/h of gas and 0.5m3/h of water entering from the inlet? Please advise. Thank you!!

    in my opinion the most difficult and valuable physics is phase change and multi-phase solvers which is very ambiguous in openFoam... everything else is kindergarten...

    I am thankful that you guys exist for OpenFOAM. I would assume you have answered this many times but I wanted to know this, what was the idea behind making OpenFOAM free? It's an incredibly powerful tool and I've used it in several projects to just get a second set of eyes. It's performed quite well for most cases. The steady level of development that goes into maintaining this software makes me feel more and more confident. Thank you very much for the video!

      Well it was made open source back in 2004. I am not sure about the reasoning back then. As for the reasoning to go forward with this, I guess it is a very good advertisement for every company to have something for free. Customers can either spend their own time or their own money for support.

    Hi! Before use the stl file we can use surfaceCheck to check the stl quality. I have a case with a stl very larger (like a 3 meters) and with thickness small (10 milimeters). Do you have some idea how i can do a mesh clear with openFoam? Or another open source software?

    Hi, by the way, it wasn't just your hair that moved; it looks like the entire studio where you're recording the video did too, haha. Regarding the content, your old material might still be useful, and there are plenty of videos covering the same subject. May I suggest creating content on tackling real projects using OpenFOAM to solve real-world problems? This could involve customizing OpenFOAM solvers and cases.

      Yes, layers are still an issue in snappy. Did you try cfMesh? Sometimes layers are better there.

      @@OpenFOAMJozsefNagy Yes. It worked better, but the free version of cfmesh is not even close to commercial softwares, sadly. I could only make 10 layers with barely passable quality, while my colleagues using ansys can easily pop out 30+ layers I guess it is a waiting game, or eventually helping improve the mesher myself. I did look for 2 months on the issue thinking the problem was with me. Eventually I found no other opensources meshers better than cfmesh for 3d

    Thank you very much for the amazing tutorial videos!! I just wanted to know how do we interpret the alpha values between 0 and 1. If the alpha value is say 0.05 at a location, does it mean that there is mist present there? As in is the simulation predicting there are small liquid droplets in the vapor at that location? Or do we interpret it as approximately 0 hence fully vapor?

      It is a numerical value. Has nothing to do with reality. This is why the number of these cells should be kept to a minimum.

    It is possible to do Moldflow Simulation as CFD or with OpenFoam? Moldflow would consider flow, heat transfer, volume reduction in a form and changing from liquid to solid in several steps.

    I doesn't seem to work anymore on Blender 4.1 It removes the "exported from blender" but the first line only has "solid"
